Sample video tutorial of EPS Lite 2014

The setup procedure is very simple in that users must specify what parameters will be used for a panelboard first and we highly suggest users use the same file name as the one they specified in the name dialog.  Don’t try to rename the file as we did in the video.

Second is to set the bus amps if it is different from the default of 225 amps.  That is our most common size.

Third, is to set the distance from its power source and that can be any length of course. We will notify users if the voltage drop is too much.

Fourth is to size the wire based on many factors, but most common would be the bus amps.  It can, of course, be smaller, but the bus amps must be higher than the wire.

Fifth is to begin setting up some circuits.  The video shows to begin with selecting what sort of load a circuit will be.   Then enter the distance in feet.

Sixth is once users assign a load type users are taken to the circuiting dialog.  We are not using the wizard in this video, it is too limiting for most users.  This example shows a lighting circuit can be many things the user desires.  Since we assigned a 277/480V panel we gave a load of 2.1kw, although we could have entered this load as amps, kva or kw.  At this point, users can press apply to see the wire size or if users are in a hurry, press ok which takes them back to the scheduler.  Users are now done creating one circuit.  All other inputs are done in this manner, and of course. load types can be selected at will.

Last, the panelboard can be filled with drag-drop copy move and in the pro version there are many other options.  Pro can also sum loads from many panels with one button and is a lot more accurate than lt version.

Double-clicking on any circuit will allow users to edit or change the load of and branch circuit. That’s why a lot of times we will copy a circuit when it is similar to another and just edit some of the properties of it by double-clicking. This is most times the quickest method of running out a panel schedule. The pro version has a lot more options for shifting and copying circuits from one panel to another even on different projects.
